French PM Élisabeth Borne quits as Macron seeks boost before EU elections

Ministers Gabriel Attal and Sebastien Lecornu cited as possible replacements with Marine Le Pen’s party ahead in polls

The French prime minister, Élisabeth Borne, has resigned, as President Emmanuel Macron seeks to give a new impetus to his second mandate before European parliament elections and the Paris Olympics this summer.

Macron did not immediately name her successor.
